Based on current and predicted weather conditions and in the interest of the safety of the athletes due to field conditions, the 2009 Stennis Space Center Area III Track and Field Special Olympic Games scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2009, are canceled and will not be rescheduled.

We would like to thank all the committee members, volunteers, corporate and individual sponsors for their contributions and hard work in preparation of these games.

All monies raised will be donated to Special Olympics to support State and National competitions.

We look forward to seeing you next year.

Special Olympics is a nonprofit program of sports training and competition for individuals with mental retardation. Founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, Special Olympics provides year-round training and athletic competition for more than one million athletes in nearly 150 countries and all 50 states in the United States.
